ADUs in Mississauga: What the Rules Actually Say

As-of-right permissions

Since 2022, Ontario's More Homes Built Faster Act allows one additional residential unit on any residential lot as-of-right — meaning no rezoning application required. In Mississauga, this applies to detached, semi-detached, and townhouse lots.

Size limits and setbacks

Mississauga's zoning by-law caps detached ADUs at the lesser of 10% of the lot area or 80 m². Setbacks are typically 1.2 m from rear and side lot lines, though corner lots and sites with existing easements may differ. We review your specific parcel before quoting.

Permit timeline

Most Mississauga ADU permits are issued within 6–10 weeks of a complete application. We handle the full submission including site plan, architectural drawings, and any required engineering reports.

Renovation Warranties

All EverOak renovation work carries a two-year workmanship warranty. Structural work is covered for five years. Manufacturer warranties on windows, doors, roofing, and mechanical systems are transferred directly to you at closing.
